How Smart is a Smartphone?

The latest technology buzzword in mobile communications is the ‘smartphone’. The days of a phone just making phone calls (and, if you were really lucky, take awful photos) are well and truly over. A demanding, tech-savvy public wants a phone that will provide them with a range of functions, including Internet access, the ability to send and receive emails and even to edit Word documents. The smartphone does all this — and more.
Bet you never thought the iPhone would grow so alarmingly popular. But it has, and we cannot simply ignore it or the millions of applications that float in the Apple App Store.
From funny to unique, unique to unusual and bizarre, diverse kinds of applications rule the App Store. Hundreds of more such are launched everyday. With the App Store growing bigger and bigger everyday, the lifetime of an ordinary app denigrates to less than a week. Making a breakthrough iPhone app is indeed a challenge all iPhone application developers face.

If your application has a File menu that has items that have nothing to do with files, get rid of it.

Are Managed Hosting and Dedicated Hosting the Same?

Both a managed hosting service and dedicated service mean running a server that is not shared with anyone else. Beyond that, the services you get will depend largely on the provider since there is no industry standards set for servers. What this means is that fully managed to one provider may mean the same as self-managed to another provider. It is the term ‘managed’ that causes the confusion.
Many things can be involved in managed hosting including
- Application monitoring
- System updates

How many times have you been carrying on with your computing like you normally do and all of a sudden, your computer crashes and you lose everything forever. Your answer is very likely either never or maybe once. This is because computers have become fairly reliable and the likelihood of a hard drive failing is becoming more and more a thing of the past. Does this mean that we can now go on in life free of safety and never worry about losing our data again? Most definitely not.
